Facebook's Farmville, Island Paradise, or Cafe World

I didn't used to even mind the games in facebook... So one day I decided to try it out.

And what happens?

I am not constantly checking my "crops" in farmville and in island paradise! Plus I constantly am "cooking" and upgrading in cafe world.

How long did it take me to get hooked on these games? Hmm maybe 8 hours - 3 days after being able to harvest and earn in island paradise and in farmville and for a meal to be cooked and served in cafe world.

Are you with me?? :p

Baby First Birthday Gift

Baby First Birthday Gift

Our DS 1st birthday is coming up in about 2 weeks! I can't believe its so near already. I have been planning it for months now. And now that its so near, I am thinking what to give our baby first birthday gift. Anyone with baby gift ideas ?

I don't want to buy a toy since that is too generic and I want it to be really special. So I guess clothes are out of the question. Which brings me to Photobooks ! I have given photobooks in the past to the special people in my life, my husband, good friend, and now, I believe the idea of giving my DS photobooks through the years starting with his 1st birthday is truly something special. Ofcourse, as he grows older I will have to add to those photobooks but for now, I'm good with the idea of giving a photobook as his first birthday gift.

I have used only 2 photobook makers online:

that is shutterfly - (shutterfly.com)
and
picture books - (picturebooks.com.ph)

Personally, I love all my orders from shutterfly, thats actually where I had my wedding album made. I prefferred a photobook instead of those thick and heavy standard wedding albums. I wanted a photobook so that its really handy and easy to bring around.

And the reason I tried picture boooks company is because they are in the Philippines - meaning, less shipping cost.

Although the quality is quite okay, I stil prefer the print quality and paper quality that shutterfly uses. So, even though shipping costs more, I know I get quality photobooks from shutterfly.

Now I suppose its time to sort DS' pictures! Wish me luck!

Aftermath

Aftermath

Its a new week after typhoon ondoy and pepeng hit our country.
I'm wondering, how many of us are still out to help?
A quick look in facebook shows that in God's grace, there still are some of us donating, and volunteering, delivering relief goods.

This is a good time to remember and thank God for his greatness.
Because of something negative that happened, something positive and even long lasting happened.

Truly, His ways are higher than ours.
He can see the big picture.

If only we can all take a step back and pause, we all will see the beauty in each thing.

God bless you today!:)

Philippine News

Philippine News seem to be bad news recently...
But, days after that horrendous Typhoon "Ondoy" or "Ketsana... I try to look at the bright side of things.
And you know what?
Its not that hard! Why? Coz within a day after the typhoon flooded most of Metro Manila, so many people donated so generously, in kind or in cash, other than that, there were countless of volunteers springing up on various areas.

It feels so nice knowing that so many people still care. The devastating floods that typhoon Ondoy has caused is a wake up call and its something that has brought our country people together.

And now thank GOD that the even bigger typhoon "Pepeng" has diverted a little so it will atleast lessen the hit.

Everyday I thank God for everything. HE is in control.

I leave you with this verse:

"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:9

Juicer Recipes

Juicer Recipes I've tried

Just the basic mixes of whatever fruits or vegetables I randomly mix together. :)

I recently bought a juicer as it was on sale. (got it at a goood price!)

I started experimenting and searching online on what fruits/veggies are good to mix!

So far my favorite:

apple orange carrot juice

or

apple pinneapple mango dalandan juice

or just plain

apple orange juice

so far I really found yucky:

broccoli cucumber apple orange juice

eewwwwww

Banana juice ?
I have recently discovered that BANANA has no juice! Haha I put it into the juicer and nothing came out. :s Hehehe! :)
So no banana juice. The idea of having banana juice sounds yummy to me though. I could just settle for a banana shake/smoothie instead.

Having a juicer is so much fun for me plus I can include vegetables time and again without really having to taste it!

I know my recipes are just plain... I should try checking jack lalanne juicer recipes, haha.

Have a good juicer recipe ? Share it with me! I'd love to try more! :)

I need more juicer recipe ideas. :)

Amway Double X

Amway Double X Philippines

Yes I also thought it was a fad.
Whatever. I didn't even want to give it the time of day. But when my sister who gets sick easily (cough, colds, fever, etc.) started taking it she did not get sick! Hmm. "Fine." I agreed to try it for my husband since I wasn't sure if I could since I am still breastfeeding.
Well, my husband, who also ALWAYS has colds, (bad colds) or felt weak, started NOT getting colds, had more energy etc. I was happy that the Amway Double X vitamins was worth it.
By the way, its a pack of 3 tablets that you have to drink twice a day. I know it seems a lot, but after I have experienced it first hand:

I was getting sick - cough, and a bad sore throat was starting. Quickly (after checking if I could drink it while breastfeeding), my husband told me to try taking the vitamins - Amway Double X. So I did. And wow. the next day, my sore throat was gone. SO now, after that I take it everyday and haven't gotten sick.
I shall update you in case I do. (I HOPE NOT THOUGH!)

Breastfeeding Blog

A Breastfeeding Blog

Now in my 11th month of Breastfeeding our son, I think back to the time I started this.

Right after I gave birth. What is breast feeding? According to Wikipedia.com:

Breastfeeding is the feeding of an infant or young child with breast milk directly from human breasts (i.e., via lactation) rather than from a baby bottle or other container. Babies have a sucking reflex that enables them to suck and swallow milk. Most mothers can breastfeed for six months or more, without the addition of infant formula or solid food.

Human breast milk is the healthiest form of milk for human babies.[1] Breastfeeding promotes health, helps to prevent disease and reduces health care and feeding costs.[2] In both developing and developed countries, artificial feeding is associated with more deaths from diarrhea in infants.[3] Experts agree that breastfeeding is beneficial, but may disagree about the length of breastfeeding that is most beneficial, and about the risks of using artificial formulas.[4][5][6]

Emphasizing the value of breastfeeding for both mothers and children, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) both recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life and then supplemented breastfeeding for at least one year and up to two years or more.[7][8] While recognizing the superiority of breastfeeding, regulating authorities also work to minimize the risks of artificial feeding.[5]

The acceptability of breastfeeding in public varies by culture and country. In Western culture, though most approve of breastfeeding, some mothers may be reluctant to do so out of fear of public opinion.

----------------

I was pretty lucky I had 2 sisters who have breastfed before me and their memory of it was still clear. (Coz one of them was still breastfeeding at the time). They guided me and explained what to expect and what not to expect.

Some of the few things that proved important to know were:
1. In the first few days, the milk that will come out will really look so little (this is colostrum - super rich in nutrients) - and that "little" milk (colostrum) is GOOD enough to fill baby's appetite. Unless your doctor or nurse says otherwise, Do not worry about how little it is!

2. You don't NEED to pump in the first few days (just feed your baby instead) - if you do pump and see that its just a little, it just might discourage you. So just wait maybe a week or so.

3. In the first few weeks, I breastfed on demand - it was like I was telling my body that I needed to make a lot of milk.

(By the way, I'm a SAHM thats why I was able to feed on demand.)
(I will keep updating this list as I remember them.)

---

If you need breastfeeding help, please don't hesitate to ask me. I'd love to help! Esepcially new moms who have just given birth, I'd like to give you all the support that I can give. Anything regarding breastfeeding, breastfeeding clothes, breastfeeding baby, breastfeeding help, breastfeeding support, breastfeeding questions, breastfeeding toddler, even basic newborn baby care, or whatevers on your mind.

I'm, no expert but I have experience. :)

Goodluck to all you

Childrens Birthday Party - Planning 1st Birthday Party

Who doesn't love a Childrens Birthday Party?

Hehe. Well maybe not all. But most mom's I know do!

It's almost our son's 1st birthday party and as early as 4 months ago, I already started planning for it. What mom couldn't get excited panning their first child's birthday party? Although I admit, even though I had planned 4 months early, there are still some stuff to do! But anyway, here a list of the basic needs to complete your baby's party:

1. Food - Caterer
- Food Booths
2. Venue Birthday Decorations
3. Cake
4. Entertainment
5. Host
6. Games
7. Banners
8. Birthday Invitations
9. Thank you tags
10. Prizes
11. Giveaways
12. Venue

Atleast you could have a basic checklist of what you need and once you're done with all these, you're all set!

Bible Verse that I love

What is your favorite Bible verse ?

(I'll keep updating this as I read/discover them)

"Come now, let us argue this out," says the Lord. "No matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can remove it. I can make you as clean as freshly fallen snow. Even if you are stained as red as crimson, I can make you as white as wool."

Isaiah 1:18 NLT

"How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word and following its rules. I have tried my best to find you—don't let me wander from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you."

Psalm 119:9-11 NLT

Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.

Proverbs 17:28 (New International Version)

For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
Romans 5:19 (New International Version)

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it."
Malachi 3:10 (New International Version)

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8 (New International Version)

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him."
Jeremiah 17:7 (New International Version)

"Lord, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you.

Psalm 130:3-4 NLT
